Nokia is a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer that was dominant in the 1990s and early 2000s. The company was unable to compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung when touchscreen smartphones gained popularity, thus rapidly losing market share. Nokia's mobile unit was acquired by Microsoft, which renamed the company as Microsoft Mobile.

Lumia 535, available in single- and dual-sim versions, is the first smartphone launched by Microsoft with its own branding after the acquisition of Nokia's mobile unit. The budget smartphone has a 5-inch (540x960p) screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear and front cameras and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 software.
