Xiaomi launches its first dual-curved display and 6GB RAM smartphone, Mi Note 2.

Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi Note 2 smartphone in Beijing, China in an event. The handset comes in two colour variants - Piano Black and Glacier Silver. 



The 4GB RAM+64GB variant is costs CNY 2,799, while the 6GB RAM+128GB variant is priced at CNY 3,299. There is also a Special Edition version with 6GB RAM+128GB storage version priced at 3,499. The India price and availability details of the device are not yet known.



The smartphone as expected comes with dual-curved display and has front and back panels covered with 3G Glass, which is also the device's highlight. At the front, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a flexible 5.7-inch OLED display under the 3D glass. Also, the company claims the device to sport a 77.2% screen-to-body ratio, 100000:1 contrast ratio, and a reading mode as well. For reference, the iPhone 7 Plus has 67.7% screen-to-body ratio.



There's also a physical home button placed below the display, which is a change in design as the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro came with three capacitive touch buttons.


As for the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 runs Android-based MIUI 8 out of the box and features a 5.7-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution flexible OLED display. The device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, clubbed with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage.

In the optics department, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 22MP rear camera powered by Sony IMX318 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, PDAF, EIS for sharp and stable images and videos. At the frontthere's an 8MP camera based on Sony Exmor IMX268 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Some of the other features included are NFC, HD audio quality, and GPS connectivity.


The 4G LTE-supporting Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is backed by a 4070mah battery, which also supports Quick Charge 3.0.



Xiaomi also laucnhed its Mi VR headset at a price tag of CNY 199 (roughly Rs 1,900).
