Samsung devices most traded phones in India in 2016: Report.

Capturing 28.52 percent of the Indian mobile phone market, South Korean giant Samsung sold a maximum number of devices in 2016, followed by Apple iPhone 14.87 percent and Motorola with 10.75 percent, a new report said on Saturday.
According to e-commerce app Cashify, Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 was the most traded phone in 2016, capturing 3.02 percent of the resale/buyback market.

“This was followed by the Moto family’s most successful phone of the year, Moto G 16GB (2nd Gen), with 2.71 percent. Apple iPhone 5s 16GB (factory unlocked) came in third with a 2.34 per cent share,” the report said, while noting device-wise distribution.
Other players, such as the OnePlus One 64 GB (1.78 per cent), also made their presence felt.
“With a minefield of flagship launches, the resale market picked up the pace in the last few months as the number of people queuing up to trade their old smartphones with the latest market entrants went up significantly,” the report stated.
With a slew of smartphone launch announcements lined up for 2017, Cassidy expects the resale market to show further growth as more and more people become aware of the resale value of their old phones.
Recently, Cassidy ranked Delhi number one when it came to upgrading smartphones with 19 percent of online requests generated by the e-commerce app Cashify to sell used smartphones were from the capital.
