Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) vs Yu Yureka Plus vs Lenovo K3 Note

Motorola just launched the third-generation Moto G upgrading it with some new hardware and software features retaining most key elements of the previous generation version.

The Moto G helped Motorola make a big comeback in emerging markets like India and ended up becoming the benchmark for budget Android devices. However, the landscape has changed considerably. Following the entry of Xiaomi and other Chinese handset brands, is now flooded with budget Android smartphones that offer better value for money.

Lenovo’s K3 Note and Micromax’s YU Yureka Plus are two of the most feature-rich smartphones available in the market at a price less than Rs 10,000. The phones offer big full-HD displays and 4G support. Motorola has priced the new Moto G a bit steeply at Rs 12,999. Does the Moto G command a premium over the other two phones?

Nokia Mobile Phones....

Nokia is a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer that was dominant in the 1990s and early 2000s. The company was unable to compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung when touchscreen smartphones gained popularity, thus rapidly losing market share. Nokia's mobile unit was acquired by Microsoft, which renamed the company as Microsoft Mobile.

Lumia 535, available in single- and dual-sim versions, is the first smartphone launched by Microsoft with its own branding after the acquisition of Nokia's mobile unit. The budget smartphone has a 5-inch (540x960p) screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear and front cameras and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 software.

London like you've never seen before

Liverpool Street Station
A major railway and underground station in central London, the Liverpool Street Underground Station intersects with the Circle Line, the Hammersmith & City Line and the Metropolitan Line. Close to several tourist attractions like the Spitalfields Market, Whitechapel Gallery and The Bank of England, there are also plenty of good hotels in the vicinity.

Inside Saint Paul's Cathedral
After several reconstructions, the present day St. Paul's Cathedral boasts the second largest dome in Europe after St. Peter's in Rome. It is the only domed cathedral in the whole of England. Rising to a height of 111 meters and weighing about 66,000 tons, it takes eight arches to support this mammoth structure, which is crowned by a large lantern weighing an additional 850 tons.

The Banker pub
Located right on the water between London Bridge and Southwark Bridge, The Banker is a fabulous riverside pub offering superb views of the Thames. Drop in and choose between a fusion of traditional and contemporary British food accompanied by some delicious wines, real ales, cocktails and spirits. We recommend sticking with the ale, for which the pub has been featured in the Good Beer guide

MCA may end Shah Rukh Khan's Wankhede ban

MUMBAI: Recently, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had reason to rejoice when his team Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel clinched the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title. By Sunday evening, the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner may well be in a mood to throw a party. TOI has learnt that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) may end his five-year ban on entering the Wankhede Stadium, in a Managing Committee meeting on Sunday.

Khan was banned from entering the Wankhede in May 2012 for five years after a scuffle and heated altercation with a security guard and the MCA officials following an IPL game in which KKR beat the Mumbai Indians. Now, however, a certain section in the MCA wants that ban, which was supposed to end in 2017, to be lifted a couple of years earlier itself, since SRK has already served a substantial period of it (three years) 'respectfully' without trying to enter the stadium at any stage.

The MCA had offered to temporarily lift the ban on Shah Rukh last year, in what was a failed attempt at bringing back the IPL final from Bangalore to Mumbai. That offer, however, was just for the final. This time, however, the ban may just be consigned to history for good.

The news is likely to find favour with the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council chairman Rajiv Shukla too. Both the parties weren't too pleased about the fact that an IPL team owner and one of the most popular faces of the league could not enter one of the most famous cricket stadiums in the country.

5 High-End Features OnePlus 2 Doesn't Have

After months of teasing, OnePlus has finally announced its new smartphone OnePlus 2. Dubbed as the flagship killer, the smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999 for the 64GB storage variant.

While its specifications and feature set is top-notch at its price, here are 5 things we wish that the OnePlus 2 included...

Expandable storage
Dual-sim slots are a welcome addition, but honestly we would have preferred if an option of expandable storage was given instead. You are stuck with either 16GB or 64GB of storage with the OnePlus 2 and since there is a USB Type C port, the standard available OTG drives and adapters will have to be used with an extra adapte.

Higher resolution display

Flagship devices from other manufacturers today come with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. However, OnePlus 2 sticks with a Full HD 1080p display, which is the same resolution as OnePlus One. We had hoped that OnePlus would have upgraded the display.

NFC

More and more accessories today are coming with support for NFC connectivity. NFC allows for quick pairing and some apps even use it for making wireless payments. OnePlus One included NFC, so we could not understand why it was removed from OnePlus 2.

IR sensor

Again, not a very common feature, but if you have used the universal remote app with an IR sensor on a Samsung or LG phone, you will know how useful it is. Inclusion of an IR sensor with a universal remote app such as Peel would have been great.

Quick Charge

OnePlus One lacked support for Quick charge with the Qualcomm chipset, and now even the OnePlus 2 also does not support it. With Quick Charge 2.0, compatible smartphones can charge much faster than a standard charger.
