Exchange of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes ends; can be deposited till Dec 30.

The Centre on Thursday extended the usage of old Rs 500 notes for payment of public utility bill till December 15, but people cannot exchange the banned notes any longer.

A savings account holder could withdraw up to Rs 24,000 per week from banks. While current account holders can withdraw up to Rs 50,000 a week, provided it has been in operation for at least three months.
