The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday cited the Swiss bank account numbers of Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh’s wife Preneet Kaur and son Raninder Singh, daring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the “black money” from these accounts.
At a public rally in Kotshamir near Bathinda, Kejriwal said that Preneet and her son Raninder had opened the accounts in a Swiss bank on July 26, 2005, and their respective account numbers were-- “5090184485 and 5090184484”. He said the Captain’s family also formed a trust and in its name they opened another account- “5090284483”.
“I ask (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi to withdraw this black money from these banks,” Kejriwal said.
“When Amarinder contested the assembly elections in 2002, he was exhausted with the royal wealth of his ancestors and he accumulated the black money and looted the public money for 3 years after he became the chief minister and opened these bank accounts abroad in 2005,” Kejriwal said.
He said Modi should also raid the premises of the Badals if he wants to bring out the black money.
Kejriwal led the AAP leadership on the dais in scathing a two-prong attack on both chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh, as he reiterated- “Why Badal did not arrest Amarinder in the cases of corruption, I ask him (Badal)?”
Bhagwant remains favourite
The crowd was all applause for the AAP’s heavyweight Bhagwant Mann as he will be contesting against deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal.
“I have now been assigned with the task at Jalalabad, and I need your support,” Mann said, that led to the thunderous applause at the crowded Kot Shamir stadium.
Mann said he was a self-made man as a politician, unlike Sukhbir whose career is made by his father Parkash Singh Badal.
“Jittho Sukhbir laduga, ottho ladunga (Will contest against Sukhbir wherever the deputy chief minister desires),” Mann said.
He said if AAP comes to power, the culprits for the deaths of two young boys in the Behbal Kalan police firing would be caught and punished. He said he also showed the FIR related to the Behbal Kalan police firing to union home minister Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha but it was of no avail.
AAP’s Punjab in charge, Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh dared Captain Amarinder Singh to demand the dismissal of Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler from the Congress. He said it was Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who ousted his 3 ministers after getting complaints and allegations against them.
“On one hand, Kejriwal does not spare his own party men, but on the other hand Amarinder is against the probe into the Bikram Majithia’s alleged role in the Rs 6,000 crore drug trade,” Jarnail remarked.
AAP’s another rally at Doda in Muktsar district also had an impressive gathering from the adjoining villages, as the party leadership continued its tirade against both the Akalis and the Congress.
The region’s AAP candidates including Jagdeep Kaka (Muktsar), Dr Baljnder Kaur (Talwandi sabo), Nazar Singh Mansahian (Mansa), Rupinder Kaur Ruby (Bathinda-rural) and Deepak Bansal (Bathinda) also addressed the rallies.
