Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus may soon get a new 'hot colour' variant.

Apple has traditionally been introducing new colour/colours variants almost every year (with the new iPhone model it launches). This year has been no different.

The Cupertino-based tech giant introduced the new Jet Black and Matte Black colour options for its latest iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus models. Now the buzz is that the company is planning to launch a Jet White colour variant for its new iPhones. The news comes to courtesy Japanese website Macotara and cites sources in Apple's supply chain.

Though nothing else has been mentioned as yet, it will be bit unusual for Apple to introduce a new colour for existing iPhone models in the middle of the cycle.

Apple's Jet Black version of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are the most popular variants of this year. The variant is, however, said to be prone to smudges and scratches. The particular colour variant also went out of stock as soon as it hit the shelves globally. We hope that the Jet White version if launched, is able to better hide fingerprint smudges and scratches.

Recently it was reported that Apple might put the successor of its 4-inch smartphone iPhone SE on hold. In a note by Ming-Chi-Kuo, first published by Apple Insider, the company will not be launching iPhone SE's successor by March 2016. This, as per Kuo, will be done to drive the sales of its latest flagship smartphones iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.

The analyst, however, did not reveal the company's plans for iPhone SE after the second quarter of 2017. The company is also said to be pressurising component suppliers to reduce the manufacturing cost. This is expected to boost the company's revenue.
